Erg Chegaga is a large erg, or sand dune field, located in the Moroccan Sahara Desert. It is known for its stunning sand dunes, which can reach heights of over 300 feet, and its beautiful landscape, which includes palm groves, oases, and ancient dry riverbeds. The area is a popular destination for tourists, who come to experience the desert and participate in activities such as sandboarding, camel trekking, and camping. Erg Chegaga is located in the southeast of Morocco, near the border with Algeria. It is about a 4-hour drive from the city of Marrakech. This trip is half board, which means that dinner and breakfast are included, as well as transport, camel rides, and two nights in the desert. However, lunch and drinks, as well as visits to monuments, are not included. Here is the itinerary for the circuit trip to Erg Chegaga in Morocco:Day 1:
  • Departure from Marrakech at 8:00 am
  • Passage through the Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains with stops

  • A visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt in Ouarzazate with visits to the studios of the cinema
  • Passage through the Anti-Atlas Mountains to reach the Draa Valley
  • A night in the Draa Valley at Kasbah Itrane (hotel with a swimming pool)
Day 2: 
  • Passage through Zagora
  • A visit to the Kasbah Tamngoult and the house of the Caid in the Draa Valley
  • A visit to the bookshop of Tamgroute (the oldest bookshop in Morocco)
  • One hour for lunch
  • Arrival at the village of Mhamid
  • Departure to the big dunes of Chegaga by 4×4
  • Arrival at Chegaga around 4:00 pm
  • A camel ride at sunset
  • Night in a bivouac under the stars (with toilets and showers) and a music show with the nomads
Day 3:
  • A camel ride at sunrise.
  • Departure to the Fint Oasis through the Draa Valley.
  • One hour for lunch.
  • Arrival at the Fint Oasis around 2:00 pm.
  • A walk in the Fint Oasis with a local guide.
  • Night at the hotel (La Terrasse des Delices).
Day 4:
  • Departure to Marrakech with stops at the Kasbah Telouet in the High Atlas Mountains
  • Arrival in Marrakech around 6:00 pm
